Probably the most common type of bracelet threadholder are the container style, with a bracelet or string that fits over the wrist and a container suspended beneath. As can be seen to the right, the containers are made of numerous different materials. The next most common type are those with suspended spindles with "buttons" (circular disks) acting as stoppers to contain a thread spool.







Less common styles are shown below. Here you see ones with 2 spindles which one squeezes together to insert a ball of thread, spool-knave types that suspend the thread horizontally, one with a swivel for a stopper on a spindle, a modern one with a spindle that sits on top of the wrist, and an older one on a card that is missing its stopper.
