Crocheted buttons have been very popular from the mid-1800s through the early 1900's. Here are some examples of ones that were commercially sold, as well as other loose ones which may have been commercially sold or may have been home-made. Notice that some are crocheted with beads. Fabric buttons were often made onto bone and celluloid rings and others were made onto button molds. Wooden and bone button molds of all sizes were made and commercially sold for homemaking one's own crocheted and other fabric-covered beads.
